Cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon has big potential for development: delegation headed by First Deputy Mayor visited partner city

The delegation headed by the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan was in Lyon, France from May 2 to 5. During the visit the delegation of Yerevan participated in the annual assembly of the Board of Trustees of the “French-Armenian Professional Education Centre” foundation as well as in the international conference organized at the “Professional Education Company of Rhone” foundation. The First Deputy Mayor is a member of the Board of Trustees of the professional education centre.
In his speech Levon Hovhannisyan attached importance to the activity of the French-Armenian Professional Education Centre in Yerevan and stressed that Yerevan Municipality is willing to provide support within its powers the initiatives aimed at the development of the centre.

The delegation of Yerevan also had a meeting with the Mayor of Lyon Gregory Doucet. The parties claimed that the cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon started as far back as in 1992, has a big potential for development. In particular, the importance of experience exchange in traffic management and urban development was outlined.
The representatives of the Armenian community of Lyon took part in the solemn reception organized in Lyon City Hall. Greeting those present the First Deputy Mayor outlined the significance of involvement of the Armenian community in development of bilateral relationship and implementation of new programs.

The delegation of Yerevan Municipality also visited the Transport Management Company of Lyon (SYTRAL), got informed about the activity of the company. They also visited the Urban Development Agency where the directions of possible interaction were outlined.
