Solemn ceremony of giving new musical instruments to municipal music and art schools was organized in Yerevan City Hall. Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the ceremony.
In his greeting speech attaching particular importance to the improvement of the conditions in music and art schools of the capital the Mayor assured that all the program consistently implemented in the recent years will be continued.
“Providing municipal music and art schools with musical instruments have become a tradition. During the recent years you witnessed that all municipal cultural centers had been renovated and provided with comfortable conditions both for teachers and pupils. I assure you that our program of providing music and art schools with musical instruments will be continued and in near future we plan to update the music literature. In comparison with the previous years we doubled the number of musical instruments and I am sure that thanks to it our children will go on getting proper education and uphold the honour of our country and capital city at international and republican competitions and festivals”, stressed the Mayor.
It should be noted that in 2016 the music schools of the capital got 154 musical instruments of 15 names, in 2017-173 instruments of 23 names and in 2018-243 instruments of 31 names. Mayor Taron Margaryan outlined the contribution of the representatives of the culture sphere of Yerevan Council of Elders in the initiative related to art school and as an expression of appreciation, during the solemn ceremony, by the decision of the Board of Trustee of “Yerevan” foundation, on the event of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation and the 80th birthday anniversary for his significant contribution to the cultural life of Yerevan the composer, member of Yerevan Council of Elders, Yerevan Honorary Citizen, the RA People’s Artist Martin Vartazaryan was awarded with the medal of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan.
By the decision of the Board of Trustees of “Yerevan” foundation, on the event of the 280th anniversary of Yerevan, for active participation in the activity of Yerevan Council of Elders and productive work the medal of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan was also awarded to the composer, conductor, member of Yerevan Council of Elders, Yerevan Honorary Citizen, the RA Distinguished Art Figure, the RA People’s Artist Yervand Yerznkyan and the member of Yerevan Council of Elders, music critic Anna Asatryan.
Expressing gratitude for permanent attention to cultural establishments the directors of music and art schools in their turn said that the had been waiting for comfortable conditions and new musical instruments for year and now their wish has come true.
