Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the representatives of the Board of Compatriotic Union “Vaspurakan”. Greeting the guests and stressing the importance of activity of the union Taron Margaryan assured that Yerevan Municipality would carry on assisting the union in the implementation of its programs.

“Yerevan Municipality cooperates with various compatriotic unions which have one mission- to instill patriotism in the younger generation, to remember and to fight for Homeland. I also observe various programs realized by “Vaspurakan” union and I am sure that cooperation expansion with Yerevan Municipality will give a positive result”, said Taron Margaryan adding that within its powers Yerevan Municipality is ready to support all initiatives of the union.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception the deputy chairman of the Board of “Vaspurakan” union, Doctor of History Harutyun Marutyan noted that the union is trying to keep the memory about Van-Vaspurakan, to preserve the sense of belonging to the historical homeland handing them down from generation to generation.
“Mister Mayor, the Compatriotic Union “Vaspurakan” has 200 members and it's highly important for us that the cooperation with Yerevan Municipality will be more active. We greet all your initiatives aimed at patriotic upbringing of generations” said Harutyun Marutyan.
During the meeting the parties outlined the directions for cooperation expansion.
For tight cooperation between Yerevan Municipality and the Compatriotic Union “Vaspurakan” as well as for supporting the activity of the union Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has been awarded with the title of Honorary Member of the Compatriotic Union “Vaspurakan”.
