Yerevan Mayor visits TUMO center for creative technologies

During his working visit to TUMO center for creative technologies Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan familiarized himself with the improvement activities carried out in the adjacent park since 2006. Presenting to Taron Margaryan the reconstruction and improvement activities carried out in two stages the president of “Simonyan educational foundation” Sam Simonyan said that within the frames of the improvement program a new underground irrigation system had been installed, numerous trees and plants had been planted and cultivated, a special lighting system had been installed, basketball and football grounds, a children's playground had been constructed, car parking spot had been arranged. Benches, bowers and drinking water fountains have been provided as well to make the area a complete recreation area for the residents.
Expressing his satisfaction with the work done in the recreation area Mayor Taron Margaryan greeted the participation of the center in improvement programs and noted that this initiative of the center is really exemplary for all those organization which are willing to come up with such programs.
By the way, the students of TOMO center Edgar Gasparyan and Roland Khojayan who were injured in the bus explosion in Yerevan in April of this year were promised by Mayor Taron Margaryan when he visited them in the hospital, that he would visit TUMO center together with them to familiarize himself with the routine of the center. So as it had been promised Yerevan Mayor together with the boys and accompanied by the president of “Simonyan educational foundation” Sam Simonyan and the member of the Council of TUMO center for creative technologies Bekor Papazean walked about the center, familiarized himself with the activity of the educational establishment and talked to the students of various groups.
In particular, during the conversation with the students of websites creation club Mayor Taron Margaryan offered to create and put into operation in Yerevan like in other big cities worldwide an application software warning about traffic jams which will make drivers work easier and will save time spending on the road.
“Application software informing drivers about traffic jams is being used in the big cities worldwide. I want there will be such a program in Yerevan which will be created by the students of TUMO. And be sure that we will show any support to help this project be successful”, said the Mayor.
Presenting Taron Margaryan the programs being implemented in the center Sam Simonyan said the TUMO center for creative technologies carries out free out-of-school program which provides thousands of young people aged 12-18 to get skills to succeed in the modern digital world and to find their future way. It was also mentioned that in its 4 centers Tumo currently has 10000 active students 7000 of which are in Yerevan.
Attaching particular importance to the activity of the center Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that it gives the fine opportunity to young people to get good narrow specialization. Stressing the successful cooperation with the center Mayor also expressed willingness to organize the practice of the best students of the center in municipality subordinated CJSC “Technology Management Center of Yerevan” and this idea was greeted with delight by students and the administration the center.
Expressing gratitude for the visit Sam Simonyan in his turn noted that TUMO center for creative technologies had always felt the support and consistency of the Municipality in implementation of programs in the capital which is highly important.
