Policlinics of Yerevan are re-equipped

Development and improvement of health care is a priority task. In 2019, the budget disbursement for purchase of medical equipment increased from 70 million drams to 146 million drams. In 2020 the amount is three times as much as in 2018: 215 million drams has been disbursed. This rate is unprecedented for Yerevan.
According to Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sergey Harutyunyan, the aim of the primary health care is the prevention and early revelation of diseases. In 2019, the municipal out-patient clinics were replenished with 325 units of 10 names of equipment.

In 2019, pulse oximeters were purchased to relieve podiatrists in diagnostics and further treatment of children; inhalers were purchased as well to provide children’s treatment right in the policlinics.
“Improvement of health care system will be continued this year. Yerevan Municipality plans to provide the municipal policlinics with 128 units of 12 names of medical equipment including ultrasonic cardiographs. The program of diagnostics of cardio-vascular diseases is held in collaboration with the Association of Cardiologists of Armenia who expressed willingness to assist in quality increase training of specialists and improvement of the quality of services. Up-to-date ophtalmological apparatuses were purchased in some policlinics as well. Though these examinations are among less available for the population ones, we are determined to provide high-quality services in policlinics, without re-directing patients to other medical establishments”, said the Deputy Mayor.
The improvement of the conditions in the facilities of out-patient clinics is among priorities as well. A number of policlinics are to be overhauled. In 2020, renovation will be over in all substations of the “Ambulance” CJSC subordinated to the Municipality of Yerevan.
