It is suggested to increase annual parking tariffs in the centre of Yerevan. From January 1, the annual payment for parking in the city centre is suggested to be 160.000 drams. The tariffs are to be set in accordance with the zoning principle. The anticipated change was the main subject of the public discussion held in the City Hall.
Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan outlined that the main goal of the change is traffic relief. As regards the residents parking their vehicles near their residence place it was claimed that from midnight till morning 09.00, parking will remain free of charge. Besides, they are ready to discuss problems additionally. Parking of vehicles will be free of charge.
The necessity of underground and overground parking spaces was outlined by the members of the Council of Elders. The Municipality is ready to consider several offers.
The five-year program of Yerevan development, the program of next year’s development, draft decisions on the budget, local duties and payment tariffs were also submitted for public discussion. Yerevan Council of Elders will determine whether the draft decision will be accepted or not.
