New Multifunctional Recreational Zone to be developed in the Hrazdan Gorge: the regular session of the Yerevan Council of Elders has been held
A 5.5-kilometer multifunctional recreational zone will be established in the Hrazdan Gorge. The Yerevan Council of Elders approved the draft decision, allocating 172.6 million drams from the state budget to implement the project.
The project features the creation of recreational areas, venues for sports and public events, a well-designed park, an open-air cinema, and a café which will serve as a public hangout spot within the gorge. The area will undergo comprehensive landscaping, incorporating distinctive architectural and site-specific design solutions, upgrading the transport and pedestrian infrastructure. It is also planned to clean the river, rehabilitate two waterfalls, and construct a footbridge to connect to the opposite bank.
The upgraded infrastructure is expected to contribute to the environmental restoration of the area.
