Comfortable environment is provided in yard areas as well. The process has been over in six courtyards in Shengavit district. The program follows the principle of proportional development of the city.
According to the head of Shengavit district Razmik Mkrtchyan, the areas of 12 more yards is going to be put up for competition. The local authorities selected the areas which had been neglected for years. The principle of proportional development is used so as residents could see the results everywhere and not only in the central areas. Actually, the authorities are fulfilling the promises they gave during the pre-election campaign.
Gazebos, benches, playgrounds, alleys and green zones gradually take the places of illegally occupied plots and ugly constructions to ensure convenient rest zones for residents.

“Although residents often carry out illegal constructions themselves, and illegally build garages or parking sports, we feel obliged to improve yard areas and to return them to residents. This year we have planned and have already been implementing unprecedented volumes of improvement activities throughout Yerevan. We must do our best to ensure proper environment for our kids”, said the Mayor.
