As a result of the massive military provocation perpetrated by Azerbaijan and the tense situation at some segments of the RA state border, the 1st meeting of the ninth session of Yerevan Council of Elders has started with an edited agenda.
Only issues required urgent solutions were involved in the agenda.
The construction of a local irrigation network in Korindzor settlement of Tegh community of Syunik marz is planned by the loan program of Eurasian bank. The cost of the program is 160 million drams. Taking into account that 10% of the program is an obligatory co-financing of the community and the latter is unable to pay it, the Council of Elders made a decision to allot the amount from the reserve fund of Yerevan budget. Yerevan always implements various initiatives to support small communities and this grant proves it.

The bus stock of Yerevan is going to have 15 more new buses. The Council approved of the draft decision on making changes in the budget. Accordingly, 663 million drams will be allotted from the budget.
Besides, privileges related to missing vehicles or the vehicles remained in the areas occupied by Azerbaijan will be given to participants of the war and families of the fallen.
The same draft decision provides for allotment of 2 milliard drams to “Waste removal and sanitary cleaning of Yerevan” company to pay taxes.

Council of Elders also confirmed the design task for development of the design of the General Plan of Yerevan.

At the end of the meeting, referring to the martial activities caused by Azerbaijani aggression Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan urged to be united and to join all efforts to find solutions to the problems the country has to face.
“I urge everyone to leave aside different political views and positions and to get united around the leader of the country, to join our efforts to overcome the problems. As Vazgen Sargsyan said, “Don’t fight for the chair, guys, fight for the land so that there will be space to put the chair on”. We have passed through such situation before so let’s learn from our mistakes and get united. Only our army is behind our backs and we rely only on our army. Our history and everything has happened in recent years make us come to this conclusion”, stressed the Mayor.
The next regular meeting of the council is scheduled for October 18.
