Yerevan Zoo has new inhabitants. African ostriches, an Amur tiger, red-necked wallabies joined the big family of animals inhabiting Yerevan Zoo. The number of birds has also increased: black crowned cranes and golden pheasants. The most mysterious nook of the garden has new arrivals as well. They are a genet and a caiman.

The Armenian mouflons, the Bezoar goats, European deer included in the Red Book, delivered babies this year. The little lion cub Affina was born in the zoo as well.
The zoological garden is permanently improved and brought up to date to be more appropriate and comfortable for animals. The problem of irrigation and drinking water has been solved. The external lighting system was modernized as well. In addition to all improvements, the area is also greened and landscaped. Yerevan Zoo cooperates with various international organizations. The acting director of the zoo Edmond Ghazaryan has recently participated in the annual conference of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. In near future foreign specialists will visit Armenia to discuss the activities to make our zoo a full member of the international association.
