The problem of renovation and overhauling of municipal libraries is also in this context. So, since 2012 lager-scale activities have been carried out in this regard. Within three years 36 libraries have been renovated. We have 19 libraries with their 18 branches subordinated to the Municipality, besides we have 3 archives and this year we are going to finish the program of library renovation. This program was really long-expected as the libraries hadn’t been renovated for many years”, said the Mayor adding that serious activities had been carried out regarding replenishment of book fund. Thus, in the mentioned period about 30000 pieces of books were distributed to the libraries of the Municipality and this is unprecedented as no replenishments had been made for more than 20 years. “We are taking steps not only to replenish the book fund but also to provide the libraries with computers and other up-to-date equipment and technical means. Concrete measures are taken to install e-library funds. And I am sure that after finishing these activities our citizens will enjoy going to libraries as they used to be”, said the Mayor.
