Social program involved in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2798” program of events has started
For the third year running by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan's initiative the city day events have included social components. This year 2798 families will get presents in the form of household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, stoves, TV sets. The social program being implemented within the framework of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2798” events under the slogan “Yerevan-sun city” has been started today from the area adjacent to the main building of Yerevan Municipality. The persons in charge of the Municipality and administrative districts set off to the 12 administrative districts in festively decorated cars full of presents.
According to the head of Social Welfare Department Ruzanna Zakaryan, the aim of the program is not only to show social support but also to stress the permanent attention of the city authorities to the population.
“From September 27 for 10 days our citizens' homes will be visited. Congratulating them on the city day we will be giving them presents conveying this way a little warmth and sun to the families. The program includes the families which were not included in the social program of the previous year and while making the list we took into account the citizens' suggestions. This year the program also includes the families of the servicemen fallen, injured and disabled at the front line in April of the current year”, said Ruzanna Zakaryan adding that the program includes the families of the employees of the sphere of science and culture, medical workers, teachers, families of Syrian Armenians, many children families, young families, families of the participants of Artsakh war, families of the azatamartiks fallen in Artsakh, families of the Great Patriotic War veterans, families which have two servicemen at the same time.
