New improvements and new solutions expected in Zoological Garden
Yerevan Zoo traditionally opens its regular season on May 1. To make visitors’ leisure more interesting cozy nooks are opened in different parts of the zoo.
The Mayor of Yerevan visited the area to see the preparations made in the garden.
Accompanied by the members of the Zoo Management Board Hrachya Sargsyan walked about the territory of the zoo, heard out the problems and watched the process of improvement.
“During the last three years there was a lot of noise round the zoo. Currently we have revealed all problems and are gradually settling them. Changes have become obvious after the assignment of a new director. Besides we are discussing further activities with the Board. The Municipality is ready to show support to solve the problems rooted”, stressed Hrachya Sargsyan.
Today the zoo is a home for 143 species of animals. Each of them need special are. Food was the priority task. The Mayor was reported that the problem had been regulated.
There is still a lot to be done. Each corner of the garden should be improved and used purposefully. There is a special project for the reconstruction of the building where birds are kept. The Mayor outlined that the city authorities plan to develop educational programs in the zoo and other municipal establishments.
New approaches in management, structural changes and a new strategy are aimed at increasing the number of visitors.
