Both tourists visiting Yerevan and the residents of the capital make use of the program of the official city tourist route “Yerevan City Tour”. This year the season of the program work started on May 1 however taking into account the number of tourists visited Yerevan and the active tourism season “Yerevan City Tour” program started working since March.

According to the data of tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality during the period from March to May 885 visitor took part in the tours and most of them were from Iran.
During three summer months within the frames of 190 tours about 1000 tourists from Russia, France, USA, Ukraine,Poland, Germany and some other European countries made use of the program.
During 2016 the tourism unit carried on the policy of implementation of the programs of social significance and within the frames of “Yerevan City Tour” were organized tours for the children of the servicemen fallen in NKR, for schoolchildren from the RA districts, for students, for disabled people, for elderly people.
It should be noted that within the scope of the programs aimed tourism development in Yerevan the tourism unit regularly carries out new projects which promote increasing of the number of tourists and including Yerevan in the list of popular tourism destinations.
In particular, in 2015, in the annual award carried out by tourism platform Tripadvisor Yerevan got the 7th place among the largest world cities in the nomination “Tourists' choice”.
