“Yerevan Bus Program” financing and implementation agreements are signed

The transport network of Yerevan is going to increase by 100 buses. The 12-metre low-deck buses working on natural gas will be purchased due to the grant and loan agreements between the Republic of Armenia, “Yerevan Bus” CJSC and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. The official procedure of signing four agreements for financing and implementation of “Yerevan Bus Program” was held on November 24. The agreements of the loan, grant program support were signed by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan, the head of the EBRD Armenian office Dmitri Gvindadze and the director of “Yerevan Bus” CJSC Elbak Tarposhyan.

To-be purchased 100 buses will add to 311 buses the purchase of which was financed from the community budget and serve the new transport system of Yerevan.
The cost of the program is 25 million euro of which 20 million euro is the loan from EBRD and 5 million euro grant means from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environmental Partnership (E5P).
