Taron Margaryan: “We should carry out only such activities which will contribute sustainable development of the NKR communities”
Within the frames of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan's official visit to Artsakh a meeting-discussion was organized during which the results of the cooperation established between the two Armenian capitals as well as between 12 administrative districts of Yerevan and districts and communities of Karabakh were summarized. The NKR Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan and the members of the “Republican party” faction of Yerevan Council of Elders arrived in Stepanakert with the delegation, were present at the meeting-discussion organized in the Assembly Hall of Astsakh government..
Expressing his content with the results of cooperation the leader of Artsakh government expressed gratitude for initiating the cooperation program with Artsakh and its consistent development.
“ I'd like to express gratitude to you, Mister Margaryan, for keeping at the focus the programs of strengthening relationship with Artsakh since you became Yerevan Mayor. Due to your initiative the cooperation between Yerevan administrative districts and NKR districts was established and has been actively developing. In the cooperation between Yerevan and Stepanakert everybody sees how close the bilateral interaction is, and various programs have been implemented within the frames of this cooperation. I am sure that nothing can hinder regular development of our relationship”, said the NKR Prime Minister.
Expressing gratitude for appreciation and the support shown in the organization of the meeting-discussion Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that really large-scale work had been fulfilled within the frames of all the programs of cooperation and offered to listen to the brief reports of the heads of Yerevan administrative districts on the work done.
It was outlined that the cooperation is dynamically developing from year to year and this fact is proved by the statistics of reciprocal official and working visits. In particular, it was mentioned that 8 delegations and working groups from Yerevan visited the NKR in 2014, and Yerevan hosted 1 delegation. In 2015 72 delegations and working groups visited Artsakh, and Yerevan hosted 40 delegations. It was also mentioned within the last 6 months of this year the annual rates of 2015 almost doubled: 63 delegations and working groups from Yerevan visited Artsakh, and 46 visits were from Artsakh to Yerevan. It was also mentioned that it's not just a statistics but a concrete rate of the program implementation and the details of the programs were referred to during the reports.
Summarizing the result of the meeting-discussion Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude to the parties for their contribution to the development of the official cooperation started in 2012, and expressed confidence that the persons in charge will go on devotedly do their best to promote development, progress and strengthening of the two cities and two Armenian states.
“Besides passing our professional experience to NKR districts, we should do noticeable work in public areas. During these years we carried out more cognitive visits with the aim of strengthening our friendship, however from this year on we are starting to carry out more expanded programs which will be more visible and noticeable for our compatriots from Artsakh. I suggest implementation of joint programs which will maximally contribute to sustainable development of the NLR communities”, said Yerevan Mayor.
