Yerevan Municipality departments go on presenting reports on the work done in 2017 and plans for 2018. This tie Yerevan Mayor was reported on the work done by the departments of General Education, Culture, division of Family, Women and Children Rights Protection in 2017 and the plans for 2018. Yerevan Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan coordinating the mentioned spheres was present at the meeting too.

The head of General Education Department reported that in 2017 free education was provided for about 30300 children in 2016 in 160 kindergartens including inclusive education for 189 children. 8 kindergartens were renovated and provided with 12340 pieces of furniture. About 10000 children leaving kindergartens got school bags with necessary writing goods.
Regarding the activities carried out in the sphere of culture the Mayor was reported that today comfortable conditions were provided in all municipal cultural establishments which are attended by 17190 children. he programs are continuative in the direction of library fund replenishment and providing music schools with new instruments.
The head of the division of Family, Women and Children’s Rights Protection reported that everyday work was done in the direction of home visits organization, supervision of custodial activities and in other directions. The persons in charge presented briefly the programs and priorities of 2018.
Generally giving positive estimate to the work done Mayor Taron Margaryan presented his remarks concerning the sphere activity.
“Providing regular activity of municipal educational establishments of Yerevan must be under everyday control. The sphere deals with children and teenagers and it requires maximal responsibility. The achievements in the sphere of culture are significant however I expect outlining of definite cultural directions which will make it possible to have complex approach to the sphere. We must carry out long-term activities towards presentation of cultural establishments, municipal museums”, stressed the Mayor.
