“Yerevan Card” program has been officially started. Its aim is to boost urban and cultural tourism. In fact, it is a new word in IT sphere.

“Yerevan Card” company collaborates with Yerevan Municipality, the RA Ministry of Culture, the State Tourism Committee of the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments and with the “ICOM Armenia National Committee”. The head of Yerevan Municipality tourism unit Gevorg Orbelyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Culture Arev Samuelyan, the First Deputy Chairman of the RA Tourism Committee Mekhak Apresyan, directors of museums, representatives of the sphere were present at the event organized on the occasion of the program presentation.
Greeting those present the head of Yerevan Municipality tourism unit Gevorg Orbelyan outlined the importance of the program in urban tourism development and added that the city museums, the official tourism route “Yerevan City Tour” are also involved in the program.
The organizers expressed hope that by means of the package of services of “Yerevan Card” the tourists visiting our country will have the opportunity to make use of the unified ticket in a number of tourism infrastructures, to have free admission to more than 40 museums of the city and its surroundings, to visit entertainment areas, to take part in excursions and to get significant discount in more than 150 partner organizations. Similar card programs function in some progressive countries and are among modern directions of cultural tourism development.
During the presentation the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Yerevan Municipality and the coordinators of “Yerevan Card” program.
