«Large-scale construction must not cause townspeople’s inconvenience”: regular working meeting held

The representatives of partner organizations again took part in the regular working meeting after partial removal of COVID-19 restrictions.

Speaking about the activities involved in the agenda and about current problems Mayor Hayk Marutyan presented a number of observations related to different fields.

Taking into account the activation of construction works already spotted in the capital the Mayor drew the Road Police’s attention to the problem of trucks with dirty tyres going out of building sites and the trucks with open bodyworks transporting building materials.
“Construction activity is the moving force of economy so the city authorities do their best to boost development of the sphere. However, large-scale construction must not cause townspeople’s inconvenience”, stressed the Mayor.

Touching upon the process of transport improvement Mayor Marutyan attached particular importance to the problem of prohibition of parking other vehicles at public transport stops. The first batch of the purchased 100 buses is going out on routes one after another. By the way, the process of purchase of 161 buses of 8,5 meter length financed from the city budget already has a positive result. The contract with the winner organization is going to be signed in a few days and afterwards within 6 months’ period the buses will be delivered.

“Veolia Jur”, “Electricity network of Armenia” and “Gasprom Armenia” companies were urged to place appropriate road signs while doing reconstruction and repairing activities and to improve the area after accidents are eliminated.

The Mayor was reported that the installation of 500 elevators provided for by the program of 2020 has been completed and the elevators have been put into operation.

From this year on portable commerce is possible only in case of the Municipality’s permission. This is required by law and special areas and standards are determined by the Council of Elders. It was reported that the Municipality has started receiving applications for getting permissions to start activities.
