Council of Elders Sets Privileges for Families of Those Fallen During Armenia and Artsakh Defense And Other Groups Of Participants of Wars

Yerevan Council of Elders made a decision to give privileges in real property and vehicle taxes to the members of the families of those fallen or injured during the defense of Artsakh and Armenia, or during the military duty at the frontline, while fulfilling special assignments, as a result of enemy’s attack, or those who died in subsequent years as a result of the injuries happened during the mentioned above actions; to military disabled of 1st and 2nd groups as well as to the families of those who were captured during the defense of the Republic of Armenia, during the military duty at the frontline, while fulfilling special military assignments, as a result of enemy’s attack or are recognized dead as a result of mentioned above actions.

Within the frames of community-private sector cooperation, the former sport school of figure skating will be overhauled. Yerevan Council of Elders approved unanimously the draft decision. With this aim the “Evocabank” donated approximately 300 million drams to the community. After the reconstruction program, the sport centre will be named “Yerevan Single Combat Sport of Higher Mastery” and will serve a new platform for all national teams to train and get new achievements in international contests.

Yerevan community granted a flat to the RA Distinguished artist Vahan Gevorgyan – Forsh. By the decision of the Council of Elders, the community-owned flat 63  at 15, Shinararneri street with the surface of 70 sq/m has been granted to the composer and singer.

A number of streets in Yerevan has been named: Nork 4th street  in Nork-Marash district has been named after the Armenian sculptor, Arm.SSR Distinguished Artist Yerem Vardanyan; Nerkin Shengavit 10th street in Shengavit district – after the Armenian singer, composer Elvina Makaryan, Nork 13th street (with its lane) in Nork-Marash district – after the Armenian sculptor, Arm.SSR People’s Artist Ajtsemnik Wurartu, Nork 11th street in Nork-Marash district – after the Armenian painter, Arm.SSR Distinguished Artist Arpenik Nalbandyan, the street between Halabyan and Shinararneri street parallel to Abelyan street in Ajapnyak district will be named after the actress, Yerevan Honorary Citizen, USSR and Arm.SSR People’s Artist Varduhi Varderesyan, and the street between Mazmanyan and Bashinjaghyan street in Ajapnyak district will bear the name of the actress, USSR and Arm.SSR People’s Artist Metaxia Simonyan.

 The meeting was followed by Q&A during which the council members addressed their questions to the mayor, heads of administrative districts and the municipality subdivisions.
