Within the scope of cooperation program between Yerevan Municipality and Saint Petersburg Government signed for 2015-2020, with the aim of strengthening and expansion of interaction in the sphere of education the delegation of Saint Petersburg headed by the deputy leader of education committee of St Petersburg Government Irina Aslanyan visited Yerevan. The delegation also included the leaders of number of establishments of higher and secondary education.

The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of General Education Gayane Soghomonyan greeting the guests and stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation and mutual visits in the sphere of education expressed confidence that the interaction would be both effective and long-term.
«Today Yerevan Municipality cooperates with Saint Petersburg Government. The interaction carried out in the sphere of education has a special role in this regard as within the scope of the cooperation a number of joint projects have already been implemented. The ties formed with the pupils and teachers of Yerevan schools, the visits and experience exchange evidence effective cooperation», said Gayane Soghomonyan.
The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Foreign Relations David Gevorgyan, stressing the friendship and partnership formed between the two cities in various spheres noted that the mutual visits make the ties closer and contribute to their strengthening and expansion.
The deputy leader of education committee of St Petersburg Government Irina Aslanyan expressing gratitude for warm reception noted that their familiarization with the educational system of Yerevan and the discussions about it are of mutual importance for both parties from the point of view of innovations introduction, exchange of successful experience.
«Leaders of various educational establishments of St Petersburg are here in Yerevan with me. I am sure that our visit to Yerevan will not only be interesting but efficient as well», s aid Irina Aslanyan.
During the meeting the representatives of education department presented the activity of the department in schools and kindergartens including those establishments where inclusive education is provided Besides, they presented the achievements in republican and international arena.
