Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan presented the renovated 6th segment of Circular park in the territory of which the first skate-park was constructed and a special area was separated for dogs.

Two years ago this segment of Circular park was neglected and badly arranged: its main part was occupied with cafes and illegal constructions, the irrigation system was actually broken, the ground was covered with shabby tiles existing here since the Soviet years, and the green fund of the park was practically endangered.
The city authorities started the activities simultaneously in several directions. First, the 6th segment of the park with the surface of 12 hectares was cleared from illegal constructions, the area of 50 000 sq m was cleaned from concrete and landscaped, trees were refreshed, flowers were planted and lawns designed. New illumination system and irrigation network were installed, the walkways were tiled anew and paths for cyclers were separated. Special benches and rubbish urns were designed and placed, the part of the Getar river flowing through the park was cleaned up and embanked with new stone slabs.
Besides, the area got two thematic areas: a skate-park and a dogs’ zone.
The dog’s zone is the first one of the similar zones to be separated and constructed in all 12 administrative districts of the capital. Here dog owners can come and enjoy time with their pets: Moreover, the zone has special equipment for training dogs and there are separated areas for big and small four-legged friends.

The first skate-park in Armenia was built in accordance with international standards, with high-quality materials. The park has an amphitheatre for the audience, a first aid station and a public lavatory. Ventilation systems and night illumination work on solar energy and the solar panels are installed in the area.
The improvement of the area was financed from the city budged and due to financial support of the friends of the city.
“We stay stuck to our election promises restoring and expanding the green areas of Yerevan and its recreation zones. The work will be continued”, stressed Hayk Marutyan during the opening ceremony.
The Mayor expressed special gratitude to the supporters of the program: the businessman from Yerevan Gagik Aleksanyan for furnishing the park, the member of Sochi City Council, businessman Sos Martirosyan for assisting in the establishment of dogs’ zone, and to the head of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine Vilen Shatvoryan for financing the construction of the skate-park.
