Yerevan-Lyon Friendship Gets New Impetus: Tigran Avinyan and Gregory Doucet Plant Trees in Lyon Park
The Mayor of Lyon Gregory Doucet, who is in Armenia with an official visit, accompanied by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan visited Lyon Park. The recreation zone opened in Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan in 2011 symbolizes the friendship between Yerevan and Lyon. As a token of developing and increasing partnership and friendship between the two cities Tigran Avinyan and Gregory Doucet planted symbolic trees in Lyon Park.
“This tree symbolizes the friendship existing between Lyon and Yerevan. The tree will grow and develop which proves that our friendly ties will be long lasting, and will develop and expand”, said Gregory Doucet.
“This is a symbol of our friendship: Yerevan and Lyon have been developing successful cooperation since the 1990s, and the word “friendship” is more appropriate to describe our relations. This fact also proves the high level of the Armenian-French relationship which comes from old times”, said Tigran Avinyan.
