Overview of Activities in 2025–2026
To implement the objectives of state policy in preschool education, the Yerevan Municipality Department of General Education organizes its activities in accordance with the decisions, orders, instructions, and other legal documents of the Yerevan Council of Elders, the Mayor of Yerevan, the RA Government, the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and the RA Ministry of Health.
There are 162 municipal kindergartens providing preschool education to 27,500 children, with approximately 5,434 employees carrying out educational and childcare activities.
Parents can register their children for Yerevan kindergartens online at mankapartez.yerevan.am.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, under the “Additional Financing of Education Improvement Program” loan program, 9 preschools were established in basic schools of Yerevan (N80, 88, 98, 99, 110, 123, 146, 151, 167).
In the 2025–2026 academic year, 11 preschools were established in basic schools of Yerevan (N6, 26, 52, 53, 69, 91, 93, 117, 129, 140, 172).
At present, 31 municipal schools in Yerevan have preschools, serving approximately 310 children.

The following activities were coordinated and implemented:
• The distribution and documentation of property, educational games, and didactic supplies.
• The queue management and admission of children registered in the “Kindergarten” management system.
• The formation of age groups in kindergartens.
• Ensuring compliance with sanitary norms and rules in kindergarten facilities.
• Organization of winter preparation.
• Management of the list of food products included in kindergarten diets.
• Ensuring the quality of food, monitoring expiration dates, storage conditions, and compliance with sanitary requirements for catering services.
• Ensuring the availability of first aid rooms and first aid supplies in kindergartens across Yerevan.
• Maintaining the daily routine of children.
• Compliance with the lesson distribution schedule.
• Organization of open classes and other related activities.
Renovation
• In 2021, kindergartens N5, 21, 35, 36, 49, 76, 88, 90, 97, 98, 99, 104, and 107 were renovated and put into operation.
• In 2022, kindergartens N112, 82, 86, 127, 58, 144, and 146 were renovated and put into operation.
• In 2023, overhauls were completed in kindergartens N15, 47, 48, 50, 81, 63, 71, 143, 109, and 110.
• In 2024, kindergartens N22, 23, 44, 61, 135, and 161 were renovated and put into operation.
• In 2025, overhauls were completed in kindergartens N74, 77, and 138. Renovations are currently underway in kindergartens N41, 95, 105, 137, 140, 147, and 156.
Training Courses
• A training program was organized for directors of Yerevan kindergartens on the topic “Disaster Risk Reduction: Quick and Effective Organization of Staff and Child Protection in Emergency Situations.”
• In cooperation with Yerevan Municipality and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), a pilot program on “Safe Traffic Rules” was implemented in kindergartens N36, 58, 97, 104, 139, 5, and 26 in Yerevan. All pedagogical staff completed the training.
• Within the framework of co-financing and cooperation with the European Union, the Municipality of Yerevan conducted an awareness campaign “Pre-school Institutions Educate Young Children about Waste Prevention and Recycling” for kindergarten teachers and senior-age group teachers. Educational games were provided to kindergartens as part of this program.
• In accordance with the requirements of Order No. 16-N of the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, educators of Yerevan kindergartens N5, 25, 33, 42, 58, 107, 114, 116, 119, 127, and 136 received a category.
• In accordance with the “Order of Selection and Training of Preschool Directors and Pedagogical Staff,” approved by RA ESCS Minister’s Decree N27 of July 25, 2022, kindergarten teachers passed mandatory training:
• 280 pedagogical workers in the 2022–2023 academic year,
• 299 pedagogical workers in the 2023–2024 academic year,
• 326 pedagogical workers in the 2024–2025 academic year. The process is ongoing.
• According to RA ESCS Minister’s Decision No. 744-N, “On Approving the State Educational Standard of Preschool Education,” the teaching staff of preschools underwent training:
• In the 2022–2023 academic year, in 10 preschools;
• In the 2023–2024 academic year, in 60 preschools.
• New standard requirements will be introduced in all preschools in the 2025–2026 academic year.
In 2025-2026, “Junior 1” age groups were formed in the following preschools:
