The municipal museums of Yerevan-Yerevan History Museum, the historical and archaeological reserve museum “Erebuni”, Modern Art Museum, Karen Demirchyan museum and Fridjof Nansen museum joined the “European Museum Night” action on May 20.

Traditonally, on the event of the International Museums Day thematic exhibitions were organized in municipal museums.This year all the exhibitions were organized under the common motto “Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums”.

At the initiative of the tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality the museums subordinated to Yerevan Municipality as well as Yerevan Zoo will have a three-language audio guide program at izi-TRAVEL platform.

This year the International Museum Day is traditionally marked on May 18, and the residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to visit free of charge the municipal Yerevan History Museum, historical and archaeological reserve-museum Erebuni, Modern Art Museum, K. Demirchyan and Fridjof Nansen museums.

The Department of Health of Yerevan Municipality informs that in the period from 5 to 11 of May 403 babies-208 boys and 195 girls-were born in Yeevan. In the same period 32016 citizens applied to municipal out-patient clinics.

During the regular working meeting in the City Hall chaired by Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Department of Culture and Tourism and the unit of family, women and children rights protection, as well as the heads of administrative districts were instructed to carry out preparatory activities prior to the International Day of Children’s Protection of June 1.
