Reconstruction is going on in “Mher Mkrtchyan” Artistic Theatre which annually hosts more than 19000 spectators. The theatre was renovated two decades ago and various problems had piled there. 

The official opening ceremony of the STARMUS VI Global Festival of Science and Art has been held in the Sport and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan took part in the ceremony among other officials. Throughout the week various eminent scientists, Nobel Prize winners, astronauts are going to deliver their lectures.

This year Gyumri City Day was marked on September 2 and the idea of holding Yerevan Days in the cradle of crafts and arts at the same time added more excitement to the event. Both cities came up with special initiatives turning the event into a bright celebration. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, the head of Gyumri community Vardges Samsonyan, the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan, the members of Councils of Elders of both cities and representatives of the staffs were present at the event.

The General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) is held in Prague (Czech Republic) on August 20-28 under the title “The Power of Museums”. General 

The Modern Art Museum marks its 50th jubilee with an exclusive exhibition presented in the formed building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Republic square. More than 300 works of art never exhibited before were brought from the archives of the museum. Works by Jansem,

On the event of International Day of Theatre, March 27, the annual awards of “Artavazd” was held at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after Al. Spendiaryan. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan, the Chief of Staff of the RA Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, figures of drama art, guests were present at the event.
